Esther Forman Singer

Esther Forman Singer has  been an artist since childhood, winning prestigious awards and scholarships to NYC art schools during the 30's and 40's.  During World War II, she served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army Nurse Corps as a registered nurse.  She was stationed in Hawaii, Okinawa and Japan.  Immediately following the war she married Sidney Singer .  She had two children and bred and raised Siamese cats.  Her  art work is influenced by Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Hans Hoffman, with whom she studied.  Upon her first public showing, she immediately became sucessfull and newspaper reviews were exceptional.  From there she continued in her quest to perfect her media.  She has been painting in oils, water color, and acryllics in the style she currently maintains.  She is  also a sculptor and published writer.   She was the art editor  for Worell Press which consisted of 15 newspapers across Northern NJ.  She has been a feature writer for American Artist Magazine.   Thomas Hart Benton and Tully Filmus were two of the artist's about whom she wrote.  She presently lives with her husband, Sidney,in NJ and continues to show her work in galleries both in the US and Internationally.  For a full resume of Esther Forman Singer's work and a biography, please click on our section entitled  " About The Artist".  Thank you for visiting.   We hope  you enjoy the paintings which are reproduced on these pages.  Feel free to email us in reference to any inquiry.
